While many enjoy the diverse menu, a few have pointed out occasional limited options during menu changes, which can be disappointing. For example, when popular vegetarian dishes run out, it leaves some diners looking for alternatives.
At peak times, especially on Sundays, the pub can get quite full. Some guests have faced a wait for service during these busy periods, which can impact the overall experience. A handful of diners mention that on particularly crowded nights, the noise level might rise, making conversations challenging.
Parking, although generally sufficient, can become limited during peak hours, especially on weekends. It’s wise to arrive early or consider alternative transport options when visiting during high-traffic times.
🥂 Fizz, Fish & Friday Feels at The Navigation Inn We popped into The Navigation Inn at Kilby on a Friday night and tucked into two of their themed offers—Fizz Friday and Fish Friday—which added brilliant value to an already cosy evening. For just £15, we enjoyed a chilled bottle of Prosecco🍾 🐟 Fish Friday Feast Two of us shared the Fish Friday deal—2 meals for £20, and we weren’t disappointed. Crispy, golden batter with flaky fish inside, generous chips, and sides that hit the spot. It’s classic pub fare done well, and paired with the Prosecco, it felt celebratory without being pricey. 👥 Ambience & Service The pub was lively but not overwhelming—great for a relaxed evening with friends or family. Staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that guests were having a good time. A real bonus. 📝 Verdict Between the tasty food, sparkling drinks, and warm service, The Navigation Inn delivered an easygoing yet memorable night out. Absolutely superb pub! Stu cooks from fresh! No microwave going on here and, after a broken glass, seeing Jay clean up, sweeping into every nook and cranny it's obvious why the place is immaculate! Brilliant venue, high quality food and staff anyone would be proud to have as part of their team. Jay's mum deserves a medal for raising a son who knows what mum's version of clean is and knowing how to achieve it! Highly recommended The Navigation!!!! Parking, views of the canal, lots of different areas to sit, so you can be as sociable or as friendly as you like. Warm welcome, beers kept to perfection! Clean toilets too!
Just been for a meal here and was very surprised at how good it is was! The food was excellent. The chef introduced himself and it was clear he knew what he was about. He consulted us on the menu and offered up options. There was a genuine lovely feel about the place. And as for value for money it was unreal. If I had paid more for my meal I would have still been happy. Will definitely be back. Looking forward to seeing the new menu.
Popped in as we were passing on the canal. Have been in before and the food was great. This time they had a limited menu as it was changing the following week. My wife wanted a veggy option which was sold out but the chef came out and offered an off menu alternative which was lovely. Fish and chips was great and plenty of fish. Will go back when we are next passing.
Fave local pub. Friendly staff, great for dogs. Good selection of drinks. Nice outdoor seating areas by the canal too
